Valentine’s Day… a celebration of love. A celebration worth making special for the little Kindergarteners of the world. Let them dig into these crafts and encourage them to share them with their loved ones. It’s a beautiful way to teach the act of giving.
Here are some great Valentine’s Day Crafts for Kindergarten
Valentine’s Candy Huggers
Create these little guys with the easy to use template on the website. They’ve used kraft cardstock, but why not go wild and have the kids choose from a rainbow of colours and share them with their classmates?! Attach allergy friendly edibles for that extra fun addition.
Kids love pipe cleaners. Kids also love feathers. This fancy flamingo, combines both… winner! Furthermore, his body is a great big pink love heart. Awww…
Did you know, that in China, panda bears are considered national treasures? There are only about 240 captive pandas in the world, and they are all part of a breeding program. Children love learning new facts, especially about animals. This wonderful craft activity can lead to hours of fun learning about the majestic panda! Check out his cute itty bitty heart nose!
Wax Paper Crayon Hearts
Bond with your kindergartener as you create these hanging wax paper hearts together (adult assistance required as there is a hot iron involved!). All you need to do it shave some wax crayons using a cheese grater, sprinkle some on your wax paper, lay a sheet of craft paper on top and iron away. The wax will melt and create a dreamy creation on the paper. Cut, then hang a few by the window… beautiful!
This is a favourite, and a great idea for sharing with classmates. Enjoy scouring the variety stores for interesting collections of plastic bugs – your little one will love it!
This is one of those activities where your kindergartener will require the most exciting of things – a craft basket! Fill it with old magazines, scissors, glue, crayons, stickers, and fun little odd and ends. Let them get lost in their creativity as they design and make little pouches of L-O-V-E for their friend/classmates/family.
Soaring Valentine’s Planes
Here’s one the boys, in particular, will probably love – not only to look at but to enjoy in the process of creating too. This is a great craft idea for that active child who loves to take pride in the ‘journey’ of their creation, as well as admiring the final product.
